Encapsulated Scintillator

Many high-performance scintillator materials, such as NaI(Tl), LaBr3(Ce), and SrI2(Eu), are highly hygroscopic and susceptible to environmental degradation. To ensure long-term stability and optimal performance, Atr Crystal provides precision-engineered encapsulated scintillators.

Our encapsulation process involves hermetically sealing the scintillator crystal within a ruggedized metallic housing (typically aluminum or stainless steel). To maximize light output, the crystal is surrounded by a highly efficient reflective layer (such as PTFE or TiO2) before being sealed with a high-transmittance optical window (glass or quartz) for seamless coupling to a PMT or SiPM. This advanced hermetic design not only completely isolates the crystal from ambient moisture and light but also provides robust mechanical protection against shock and vibration.
